Ladanum is a resin, which is obtained
in the Mediterranean area of different types
of cistus. In summer tread out under
sunlight the oily resin from the leaves and
branches, as if sweating the plant.
Already in Ancient Egypt, Ladanum was
very popular.
The resin was also used among other things
as incense.
Because of the balsamic aroma, it is used as
raw material for the perfume industry.
Ladanum is like most resins used in
perfumery at the same time a good fixative.
